The Riverwood Community provides a wide array of recreational activities and amenities for our residents. In addition to our magnificent pool and spa, tennis, croquet, pickleball and bocce, there are three buildings that host a variety of activities. The Fitness Center is a stand-alone building and has the latest state of the art equipment. It also features rooms for fitness classes. The Activity Center has many rooms for social gatherings, card games, bridge, mahjongg and more. The Administrative Building houses the management offices as well as the library and an arts and crafts room.
Riverwood has a full time Activities Director who coordinates all of this, plus special events, such as an entertainment series, dances, parties, theatre outings and more
Off campus Riverwood offers a beach club on Manasota Beach which is available under a separate membership and is managed by the RCDD.
The Top Rated Riverwood Golf Course is located within Riverwood. The golf course is available for private Membership. The link will take you to their website for complete information. The course is available to the public to pay to play golf. A restaurant with bar and lunch menu is available to residents and golfers during the day. Membership is required for nighttime dinners and events.
Whether your interests are solo or group activities, indoor or outdoor recreation, fishing in the lakes, birdwatching, bicycling or taking a quiet kayak paddle down the Myakka River, Riverwood offers something for everyone!
Bocce Ball Courts
Riverwood features three Bocce Ball courts located behind the Activity Center. Bocce Ball is played with 8 hard balls and one small ball called a Pallina and can be played by teams, groups, or individuals. New players will quickly pick up the game and develop their own style.
The Riverwood Community has a vibrant Tennis Community that includes six Har/Tru Clay Courts available for residents use. Four courts are lighted and available for night play. Riverwood also has a Tennis Pro on site.
Riverwood has six Pickleball Courts. Pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.
The sport of croquet has a long history in Riverwood. The croquet court was designed and built during the initial development of the activity center campus. Riverwood has one full size regulation court which is often configured into two half courts.
Our pool at Riverwood was designed for residents that like to participate in water aerobics, swim laps, just swim or those residents that just like to walk in and not have to use steps. In addition to the pool there is a seperate spa.
Riverwoods fitness center offers "state of the art equipment". Every conceivable piece of equipment is available. There are also rooms for many fitness classes, such as walk for fitness, yoga, resist a ball, dancing and more!
Riverwood Dog Park is a fenced area for dogs and their owners and guests to enjoy together. It’s an area where dogs can be off leash to play and interact. The dog park is by membership only through ROMP (Riverwood Owners of Mannerly Pets) and managed by the RCDD.
Riverwoods Tiki Bar is located outside of the administrative building and next to the pool. The tiki bar can be reserved for small gatherings or to be used as a nice place to relax with a book or laptop.
Our library is a wonderful place to read the current news or browse the bookshelves. Our residents donate books and the books are available using the honor system. Any aged books are donated to local charities.

There are many fine artists and crafters in Riverwood that join up to spend time together and share their skills in our arts and crafts room. There are two arts and crafts events a year so that our artists can show and sell their work
