Riverwood Tennis Courts
The Riverwood Community has a vibrant tennis group which features play on six outstanding Har-Tru clay courts available for the use of all residents. Har-Tru is described as the most popular clay tennis court surfacing material in America, which features a slower and softer surface, reducing the risk of injury.
These types of courts require manual grooming by the players, but at Riverwood, we only groom if the next play on the court is a league match. The courts were damaged during recent hurricanes like most other communities but were one of the first to become fully playable, due to the efforts of our skilled and hard-working maintenance team.

Tennis Leagues are available for all levels of players. All events are posted on the free-standing bulletin board located as you arrive by Court 6.
Riverwood uses a reservation system to reserve specific courts, and times, also to sign up for drills, ball machine rental, events and clinics. To sign up:

You can then use your username and password for future court reservations, up to 7 days in advance for 1.5-hour reservations, on this site. When you log into the site, you will see the Riverwood Tennis Schedule for the day. You can hit the Zoom Out button to see all six courts. There is a blue button at the top, "Click Here", which is pushed to access the Reservation Setup Wizard, to choose the requested date, time and court. The system will advise which times and courts are available. The same system can be set up for your use in reserving pickleball courts. You just choose which sport you wish to reserve a court.
You are encouraged to please timely cancel any court reservations made if you cannot use the courts for any reason.
During the league season, late October through early April, league matches will often be held throughout the mornings, Monday through Friday, usually on courts 1, 2 and 3. All Riverwood residents are encouraged to come out and cheer for your Riverwood teams, respectfully of course!
Even during league season, some courts are available in mornings and nearly always during the afternoons and early evening. Courts 5 and 6 are lit allowing for early morning and night play.
The Director of our Tennis Program, Fred Schuchert is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association, and provides group and private lessons. He has over 15 years of experience planning, coordinating, and directing tennis programs. Fred manages our lesson and clinic programs and is available for organized group and private lessons.
