Against the backdrop of our beautiful natural environment, our residents enjoy an active lifestyle. Walk or jog our miles of walkways. Work out in the 24-hour fitness center on our Lifestyle™ equipment. Attend a concert, comedy show, movie night or a neighborhood party in our multi-purpose activity center. Swim laps in the lap lanes of our large resort-style beach entry pool, take an aquarobics class or paddle with the kids. Hold a get-together, neighborhood social or just relax in our tiki area overlooking the pool. Plan a party or attend a concert under our outdoor pavilion.

Looking for organized activity? Play with our league teams or just with friends on our six Har-Tru tennis courts or one of our six pickleball courts. There’s morning and afternoon croquet on our dedicated lawn, and bocce fans congregate on our three bocce courts. Dog owners can take their furry friend for a game of catch in our dog park. With separate areas for large and small dogs, there’s room to play, or if you prefer you can watch from benches as your dog plays with friends.

Our full time Activities Director keeps things humming with a full calendar of entertainment, concerts, holiday parties, trips, mahjongg, bridge, and other fun activities. The directors of our tennis and pickleball programs provide group and private lessons, clinics and drills. The member-only Riverwood Beach Club is located on Manasota Key. In addition to the beautiful stretch of beach fronting the Gulf of Mexico, the club features, chaises, sand chairs, picnic tables under shaded pavilions, barbeque stands and an ice machine. There are also restrooms and outdoor showers. The RCDD owns and manages the club.

The semi-private Riverwood Golf Club is consistently rated among the top courses in the U.S. and Florida. This Gene Bates designed, par 72 course Championship course flows through nature at its best. Managed by Coral Hospitality, golf and social memberships are available as well as pay-to-play options. In addition, residents are welcome to enjoy lunch at the clubhouse.
